Bring a Friend to Friends Day Next Sunday, April 22
Next Sunday is Friends Day! Keep praying for and inviting your friends to be a part of this great day to God’s glory. Volunteer to provide transportation for those you are inviting if at all possible. Prepare for next Sunday by keeping Saturday night free to get ready. Ladies will be cooking anyway for the meal after worship. Sisters we appreciate all you do for special days like this. Plan on arriving early for Sunday School and park on the edge of the parking lot to accommodate those who come later for worship. Stay for the fellowship and meal after [...]
Shine for the Son This Spring
With daylight saving time going into effect today, we will all be anticipating spring even more so with the longer days that are upon us. And oh how beautiful it is in nature right now! Everything is springing back to life with all the beautiful colors of trees and bushes budding and the early spring flowers blooming too. Our great and marvelous God is doing it all over again “… upholding all things by the word of His power.” (Heb. 1:3) Pray for God to continue to bless us with good spring rains so that we will be able to [...]
Much Rejoicing
There was much rejoicing last Sunday morning as Wesley Woodard was baptized into Christ while in Gatlinburg at Challenge Youth Conference. Continue to keep Wesley in prayer as he begins to live and grow in the Christian life. Encourage him as you have opportunity. The Spring Quarter Classes of our Bible School program begin today. Take a good look at the classes listed below and choose one to be a part of. Let us all take advantage of the opportunity to study God’s word together and grow in our faith by being involved in Sunday School and Wednesday night Bible [...]
Personal Responsibility
Consider the following article taken from the church of Christ bulletin in Crosbyton, Texas regarding our personal responsibility as children of God. “One of the most difficult things for Christians to do is to accept his or her personal responsibility. Somewhere in the past when the church was young, the idea of the ‘clergy’ developed. Perhaps it was unintentional, but it did develop to the extent that most Christians feel very little personal responsibility as far as the maintenance and growth of the church. Jesus said, ‘Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my [...]
Worshiping God
Welcome to this period of worship to God this morning, especially if you are visiting with us today. As we assemble to worship God regularly, I want to encourage you to read and think carefully about the article below copied from the Bulletin Digest. May we always remind ourselves why we are here and give ourselves in worship to God as He calls us to. In so doing God will be glorified, and we will be built up in our faith. I encourage you to come and worship with us this evening as we will be studying about “Being Ready [...]

Commit to Hold Fast
The New Testament speaks quite often of the importance of “holding fast.” Consider the following calls to “hold fast” and what this holding fast means for us. “by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you – …” (1 Cor. 15:2) This means that we continue believing the gospel message we have received (1 Cor. 15:1) and obeyed. “Test all things; hold fast what is good.” (1 Thess. 5:21) This means to give yourself to holding on to what is good by doing what is good and therefore keeping evil out of [...]
The Apostle Paul in Athens
Tonight we’ll be studying about an “Introduction to Who God Is” from Paul’s sermon in Athens recorded in Acts 17:22-31. Athens was one of the greatest ancient cities, but it was also a city full of idolatry. (Acts 17:16) Paul reasons with the Jews and Gentiles who worshipped God in the synagogue along with those in the marketplace as well regarding Jesus the Christ. (Acts 17:17) The Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to question Paul. (Acts 17:18-21) The Epicureans chief aim in life was pleasure. They believed they could find happiness by seeking that which brought physical and mental pleasure. [...]
Pew Packers begins This Evening
Let’s all be here at 5:30 to pack the pews to encourage our children and young people in learning about God, His Son Jesus, and His will for their lives. Mike Howard will be leading Pew Packers in January. Bring your children to the front of the auditorium and sit with them or in the pew behind them to encourage them as they learn. Then sit together as a family for our evening worship assembly as I will be sharing a message of instructions to our young people from God’s word. As you go forth throughout this week, strive to [...]
A New Year of Opportunities
I hope and pray for you and your family a great beginning to this New Year – 2012. With the beginning of this year, I am reminded how a new year brings with it new opportunities. We each have 365 days of 2012 before us. How will we use these 365 days of 2012? Tonight I want to share with you some opportunities before each of us for the year ahead as we worship God together. Let us all encourage each other by being together in worship to God this evening. Our theme for this year is “Families Focused on [...]
